About the Nursery
With over 10,000 square feet of greenhouse space, we pride ourselves in offering a diverse selection of plants for every flower or vegetable gardener around! We also pride ourselves in growing plants that are safe for people and the environment. We do not rely on synthetic chemicals to control pests and disease, or to regulate the growth of plants. Instead, we utilize Integrated Pest Management, which relies on beneficial insects and organisms to control pests and diseases. By using proper ventilation in our greenhouses and limited amounts of natural fertilizer, we try to produce plants that will stay healthy, sturdy and productive all season.
If you are a flower gardener, or a vegetable gardener, or maybe a little bit of both, we have something for you! Every year we add new varieties of plants to our selection of over 100 vegetable varieties – over 50 tomatoes, 35 peppers, 12 lettuces and 30 different herbs, along with cabbages, broccoli, onions, eggplant, celery, etc, etc. We seed all of our vegetable plants ourselves, right here in our greenhouses.
We also design and plant all of our over 1,300 hanging baskets – we do not buy them finished off a truck. The only products we buy finished are our tropical plants like hibiscus, mandevilla and ferns. Otherwise, the plants you buy from us have been grown by us and we trust you will see the difference in the way they perform in your garden compared to the plants you could buy at “big box” stores.
Please note, the nursery is self-serve through the summer and fall months, with mostly perennials, natives and herbs to choose from. Please bring cash or check!

About the Farm
This land was originally part of the Brown family farm. About thirty years ago it was sold to the Auker family and they started the nursery business and called it Pine Springs Farm, specializing in flower baskets and vegetable and flower starter plants. We are excited to continue the legacy of Pine Springs Farm, but with our own twist. We renamed the business Nature Works Farm, which captures for us our relationship to the plants, animals, our environment and people involved with our food production and our involvement in realigning with a more natural food system and lifestyle.
