About us

A Family Farm

We are a small family farm and plant nursery located near Brush Valley, PA. Since 2016, we have specialized in hanging flower baskets, annual and perennial flowers, and vegetable and herb seedlings. Our family of 5 – Bob, Cassandra, Willa, Isaac and Jack Madden, lives and works here helping to grow our business, grow our garden, tend our 36 acres, and raise a diverse assortment of animals including goats, chickens and pigs, along with our farm cats and sweet dog.

Bob previously worked in an organic plant nursery focused on providing Pittsburgh with healthy vegetable and herb seedlings. He has had a variety of work experiences including teaching in a public school and at outdoor programs around the country. He loves helping people reconnect with nature and make gardening accessible and fun for all.

While living in Pittsburgh, Cassandra worked for an urban agriculture nonprofit managing an historic greenhouse. She studied nutrition and sustainable agriculture in her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She loves raising plants, animals and  her 3 children. As a mother, she feels very driven to teach her children the value of working hard and is grateful to be able to do that on a farm where they can all learn the lifelong skills of raising animals and tending the land to provide for themselves.
